Five tracks of Tasmanian Metal, recorded by and engineered with Joe Haley (Psycroptic, Ruins, et al.) of Crawlspace Productions in January 2023 at AAA Studios, Hobart. Grim Ripper is recent project between three, like-minded gutter dwellers. Keen on delivering the sonic equivalent of being whipped with a brick. Think old-school death/thrash, oozing with 80's Aussie punk/pub sleaze.

BLOOD TRAIL
HUNT! HUNT! HUNT!
For you there’s no escape, the blood reveals your fate
There’s no use trying to hide. The time, has come to DIE!
Blood Trail... HUNT! (X3)
HUNT! HUNT! HUNT!
For you there’s no escape, the blood reveals your fate
There’s no use trying to hide.
Blood Trail... HUNT! (X4)
RUN, run, you can try to run
HIDE, Hide, where will you hide,
HUNT, Hunt, the time has come to Hunt! (X2)
Run, run, hide, hide, hunt, hunt, DIE, DIE.
RUN, RUN, RUN!!!
Blood Trail... HUNT! (X4)
For you there’s no escape, the blood reveals your fate
There’s no use trying to hide. Your time has come,
for now you will DIE!

Blackened hardcore with the sheer heady power of stadium crust and the glacial melodies of second-wave black metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 10, 2023
Death metal has never really been my thing. I get that it’s hugely popular, but I was too young for thrash and missed the initial wave of death completely. Doom and stoner have always connected with me, but there’s something about this album that hits a sweet spot for me. Maybe it’s the occult-tinged theme of tarot cards, or maybe it’s just the homage to that old, dirty, grungy style of death metal that got that whole sub-genre going. Either way, this album is really good. Check it out! Kirk Gauthier
